Coach Mastery

Coach Mastery builds your competence and confidence over time through a combination of 15 hours of content instruction, expert demonstrations, in-class practice with peer and instructor feedback, a mentor coach for workplace application, a workbook and learning journal, and ongoing support through a community of practice. It is offered onsite or online.

Day 1: Coaching Fundamentals

This workshop is delivered in one day. At the end of the Coaching Fundamentals workshop you will be ready to practice the basic coaching conversation in your workplace, and reflect on what you learned in the workshop using the structured process outlined in your journal. Between Day 1 and Day 2 you will be asked to begin practising your coaching skills back in your workplace.

Day 2: Applied Coaching in Leadership, Career or Health Coaching

Applied Coaching takes place approximately three weeks after the Coaching Fundamentals workshop. For this intensive one day workshop, you will choose a focus area in which to apply your coaching skills. Areas of focus include leadership, career or health coaching. You and others who have chosen the same application area will learn together in a smaller collaborative learning group during this workshop day. At the end of Day 2 you will be ready to practice more advanced coaching skills in your workplace, and again reflect on your learning using the structured process outlined in your journal.

Between Day 2 and Day 3, a mentor coach will be available during specified office hours to support you as you apply your coaching skills at work. You will be asked to apply what you have learned with a "client" over three coaching sessions.

Day 3: Deepening Learning through Reflection

The morning session of the final workshop is again focused on your chosen coaching application, with more demonstrations, practice and feedback to increase your skill competence. In the afternoon session the whole group will reconvene and focus on designing structures to support your continuous learning back in the workplace.

Post-Program Support

Having successfully completed the program, you will have ongoing access to a community of practice and receive notice of continuing education offerings as they become available.
